About This Place

Nestled in the heart of Martinsville, NJ, Dolce Bene is a premier Italian restaurant that masterfully brings the authentic flavors of Italy to your plate. From the moment you step inside, the inviting atmosphere—accentuated by soft Bocelli melodies and a warm, attentive service team—sets the stage for an unforgettable dining experience that feels both elegant and comfortably familiar.

The cuisine at Dolce Bene is a celebration of traditional Italian classics elevated with meticulous care and fresh, high-quality ingredients. Their menu dazzles with a rich range of offerings—from appetizers like the tender, perfectly fried Calamari Fritti served with a zesty spicy marinara, to the indulgently creamy burrata that visitors rave about. Not to be missed are the house specialties such as the Dolce Rack of Lamb, which boasts a succulent tenderness and savory depth, and the Gnocchi Di Manzo, handmade pillows tossed in a robust, authentic Bolognese sauce that envelop your palate in layers of flavor.

Seafood lovers are treated to delights like the Pescatore Linguini, a vibrant medley of clams, mussels, shrimp, and calamari swimming in a lively fra Diavolo sauce, or the delicately prepared Sea Bass that balances lightness with subtle seasoning. Meanwhile, pasta enthusiasts will find joy in the velvety Ravioli De Mare—homemade ravioli filled with shrimp, crabmeat, and scallops kissed by a fragrant saffron sauce.

Complementing the entrées are thoughtfully crafted salads such as the crisp Insalata Tricolore with peppery arugula, radicchio, and endive dressed in aged balsamic vinaigrette, offering a refreshing contrast to richer dishes. Dessert is a highlight that guests return for time and again—the classic Italian Tiramisu and the luscious Bread Pudding serve as divine finales, perfectly paired with a bold, frothy cappuccino.

Visitors consistently praise not just the extraordinary flavors, but also the attentive, knowledgeable service that anticipates your needs. As one diner noted, the staff's ability to detail the array of daily specials without missing a beat speaks to a genuine passion for their craft, while the restaurant’s owner provides a personal touch that makes every guest feel like cherished family.

Dining at Dolce Bene is more than a meal—it's an immersive journey through Italy’s rich culinary landscape, made memorable by impeccable food, heartfelt hospitality, and an ambiance that invites you to savor every bite in relaxed elegance. Probably the best Italian I’ve ever had. Went here with 4 friends and we all agreed the food was amazing! The burata and calamari appetizers were delicious and so fresh. The entrées were cooked to perfection. We were amazed how our waiter was able to describe, in detail the array of specials they had, without any notes. It would be helpful though if they did have a printed copy of the specials available for people to refer back to. Definitely will be recommending Dolce to everyone and most definitely will be coming back!!! Oh and it’s BYOB!!!

I had an amazing experience here. The food was outstanding — full of flavor, fresh, and clearly made with real care. The quality was even better than I expected, and our dinners tasted incredible. The service was excellent from start to finish as well. Our server was attentive, friendly, and made us feel genuinely welcome. What really impressed us was that the manager actually came over to introduce himself and chat with us. Since it was our first time visiting, he even brought out some of their homemade port wine for us to try. It was a thoughtful, personal touch that really made the night special. Overall, fantastic food, top-notch service, and a warm atmosphere. We’ll definitely be coming back!

This place was amazing! We had the flounder francese and the veal parm. Both were excellent. It was the best flounder francese I ever had. The focaccia bread was also excellent. I could have made a meal out of the focaccia and dip alone. The restaurant was well appointed and the owner was very attentive. Bocelli playing in the background just added to the experience. We can't wait to go back and try other dishes. The prices were comparable to other restaurants however the one disappointment was the extra credit card fee. Food prices are high enough and the customer already has to subsidize the service, now we are forced to pay for credit card fees. It's not easy to always carry cash.

My husband and I found this gem of a restaurant a couple of years ago and it's worth the trip for us to return often. We have never been disappointed. The food and the presentations are a work of art and beyond delicious. The owner greets us each time as if we were family and he is always present. He goes over the massive list of daily specials, and alters orders upon request. The food is top quality and the menu and the specials are expansive and extraordinary!

Delicious Italian food! In addition to great main courses we ordered two appetiser specials, bang bang shrimp and Italian wedding soup and we both were thrilled with our choices. We met the restaurant's owner, Ben, and he and the young man who was assisting him, took good care of us. I look forward to going again.

Saw a post about this place just opening and decided to take my family out for dinner. Got there a little after 5 and it wasn't busy yet. Very friendly staff. The food was excellent, maybe the best gnocchi I've ever had. Starts to fill up after 6-6:30. Overall great experience.
